CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)
Our objective is to sustain profitability while continuously enhancing value for our shareholders. At the same time, we are committed to creating shared value by balancing business performance with responsible socio-environmental stewardship for People and Planet.
Our sustainability framework is built on four key pillars:
These pillars are fully integrated into our business model, guiding our operations in a responsible and sustainable manner.
Statement on Environment
Under our sustainability pillar, “Care for Environment,” we focus on relevant and impactful environmental initiatives that promote environmental protection, site conservation, and biodiversity enhancement.
We are committed to adopting best management practices in resource stewardship, including responsible soil management, water conservation, air quality control, and effective waste management. Environmental responsibility remains a cornerstone of our operational philosophy.
Statement on Workplace
Our workplace philosophy is rooted in the sustainability pillar of “Investor in People.” This principle places strong emphasis on our human capital and fostering a sense of unity within the CMJ Breweries family.
We recognize that people are the foundation of sustainable business growth. The Group is committed to providing long-term employment opportunities, a safe and respectful working environment, and avenues for personal and professional development. We adhere strictly to national minimum wage standards and promote fair employment practices across the organization.
Report on Safe Workplace
Health and safety are top priorities. We are committed to continuously strengthening health and safety awareness across all levels of the organization.
Employees are provided with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and regular medical surveillance is conducted to ensure their well-being.
Access to quality healthcare is made available through in-house clinics as well as government and private medical facilities. Monthly medical surveillance and basic health screenings are carried out by in-house medical staff and visiting medical officers to ensure proactive health management.
Report on Nurturing People Assets
The Group continues to focus on developing and training local talent by offering a list of structured training and retraining programmes. Apart from technical and job based training, management also provides comprehensive soft skills training to enhance the management skills and competency levels of its staff. The Group prioritises effective talent management and leadership development as part of its succession planning strategy.
Moving forward, the Group shall address the generational shift in operations by empowering the younger employees in the Gen-X category with enhanced job scope and responsibilities in the operations while their ‘baby-boomer’ seniors continue to provide guidance by acting as their mentors. The mentorship process is expected to help in preparing the Gen-X employees to be better equipped for higher level positions in the Group.
Statement on Community
Our sustainability pillar, “Returning to Community,” reflects our commitment to social responsibility and shared prosperity.
We actively engage in initiatives that support sports development, women empowerment, medical outreach, and charitable volunteerism. Recognizing the interdependence between our business and the surrounding community, we strive to create meaningful and lasting impact.
The Group also participates in job placement programs organized by local government agencies. During the reporting year, we invited local youth to participate in intensive training programs as part of our career development initiatives, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing local talent and strengthening community ties.
